HCD (human-centred design): How to create and improve products and services
This HCD course will teach you how to navigate a wide range of complexities in your work, including multiple stakeholders (often with conflicting interests), tight budgets, changing work environments, and meeting the diverse needs of end-users.
Human-centred design (HCD) provides evidence-based methods for solving problems, identifying opportunities, and navigating complexity. Commonly used in design and management frameworks, HCD enables solutions by involving human perspectives in all steps of the problem-solving process.
This training course aims to provide the tools to unlock better social outcomes and solve problems with HCD. You will learn to apply HCD to designing and improving products, services, digital, and physical experiences in both the private and public sectors/government industries.
You will leave this training course with the knowledge of how to address mindsets and methods from a people-first perspective, the ability to tap into the power of iteration and work visually, and frameworks to guide both divergent and convergent thinking.

About the course
This course is conducted remotely in two sessions (4 hours per day) and is a highly interactive and practical, facilitated program. By the end of the training, participants will have access to a comprehensive library of techniques that can be applied in their own contexts.

Tools for the course
We’ll use Teams/Zoom/Google Meet and Miro.
You won’t need a Miro account, but you’ll need to be able to access Miro on a desktop or laptop computer. If Miro is not accessible on a work device, you may be able to request your IT department to grant you access, or you can use a personal computer.
